Meta pixel and Conversions API

If you run Facebook or Instagram ads to your store link, connect your Meta pixel. Kushi then tells Meta when someone views your store, adds a product and places an order, so your ads can find more people like your buyers.

Connect your pixel

  1. In Meta Events Manager, choose your dataset (pixel).
  2. Copy the ID shown under its name. It's a long number, like 123456789012345.
  3. In Kushi, open Settings, then the Meta pixel tab.
  4. Paste it into Pixel ID.
  5. For server events, go back to Events Manager, open Settings → Conversions API, generate an access token and paste it into Conversions API token.
  6. Tap Save.

The tab shows Pixel connected and Conversions API on when both are saved. The token is never shown again. Leave the field blank to keep the saved one, or paste a new one to replace it.

You need a role that manages marketing or the workspace to see this tab.

What Kushi sends

From the buyer's browser, on your store page:

Event When
PageView The store page opens.
AddToCart The buyer taps Add to order or adds one more of a single product, or taps the checkout add-on. It carries the price, in naira.
Purchase An order is placed. It carries the order total in naira.

From Kushi's server, if you saved a Conversions API token:

Event When
Purchase An order is placed on your store. It carries the order total in naira, plus the buyer's email and phone number, hashed before they leave Kushi.

The browser and server Purchase events share the same event ID, so Meta counts each order once. The server event still reaches Meta when an ad blocker or a weak connection stops the browser one.

Record ad spend in Reports

Meta doesn't send your spend to Kushi, so you enter it yourself. Reports then take it off your profit.

  1. Open Reports.
  2. In Profit estimate, tap Update ad spend.
  3. Enter Total spent so far: the running total from Ads Manager, not today's spend.
  4. Tick or untick Ads are running.
  5. Tap Save.

Kushi works out each day's spend from the change between the totals you enter. The total can't go down, so always copy the latest figure from Ads Manager. Do it every day or two and Profit estimate shows ad spend and Ad cost per delivered order.

Good to know

  • Meta sees a Purchase when the order is placed, not when it's delivered. Orders later refused at the door still count as purchases in Meta.
  • Picking a quantity offer or a combo bundle doesn't send AddToCart. The Purchase still goes out when they order.
  • A repeat of the same order within 6 hours isn't sent again.
  • Orders you add by hand, import or receive through the API don't send events to Meta.
  • Courier and sales-channel connections are coming later.
